The 4,200-seat theatre opened with the All Color, All Talking, All Dancing On with the Show! (1929) plus a live stage show.
The theatre was built on the site of the former Great Northern Opera House and was designed by Philadelphia architectural firm Hoffman-Henon Co.
In the 1950s, the theatre was renamed the Warren Theatre and hosted live entertainment including Katherine Cornell, Brian Aherne, Diana Barrymore, Walter Slezak, Sam Levine, Jane Meadows & Julie Harris.
By the late 1970s the theatre had closed however the theatre’s lobby was used as a pizza parlor.
In the late 1970s the lobby and auditorium were demolished to make way for Bally’s Casino. The façade, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was preserved and served as the Boardwalk entrance to Bally’s.
