We’re keen to spread the word on historic theatres – and our photos of them – and encourage sharing, however given the original nature of our content there are some guidelines that apply to sharing our content.
Things you can do
- Please mention us in your posts as it helps all sides gain further exposure. Our social media handles for Facebook and Instagram are @HistoricTheatrePhotos. You can link to our website at historictheatrephotos.com.
- For photograph licensing you must contact us at mike@historictheatrephotos.com
.
- If you need content for more than sharing, e.g. printing or for-profit use, contact us. Our photos are all copyrighted so it’s best to discuss your needs rather than make assumptions and then be hit with a legal issue or take-down request.
- Ask our permission before embedding any of our content (photos, videos, text).
- Credit us as @historictheatrephotos or historictheatrephotos.com on websites and social media reposts.
Things you shouldn’t do
- Do not repost content without crediting us. Our social handles for Facebook and Instagram are @HistoricTheatrePhotos. You can link to our website at historictheatrephotos.com.
- Do not remove watermarks on photos. Doing so is a copyright violation and will result in legal action.
- Do not copy, alter, or edit our photos.
- Don’t copy our photos, video, or text and pass it off as your own work. Do not imply that you have created another party’s content.
- You may not monetize our content without an agreement. Such agreements are easy to arrange by contacting us at mike@historictheatrephotos.com
. Failure to do so will result in legal action.
- The original research and writings on this website are copyrighted, just like the photos and videos. You may not copy our work and use it as your own. If you wish to use any written material for publication anywhere, whether in print or online, contact us at mike@historictheatrephotos.com
.
- Our use of the copyright “Fair Use” doctrine, as defined in the United States, to reproduce copyright content, in some cases without the copyrightholder’s permission, is not extendable. If you reuse artifacts posted on this website under the doctrine of “Fair Use”, you are responsible for determining if you have permission to do so.
We take no pleasure in filing DMCA take down notices or invoking legal proceedings, so please just talk to us about what you want to do with our content and we’ll work something out.
All the best, and I look forward to collaborating with you very soon!
