Edwin St. John Griffith was born 8th June 1889. Griffith was based in Hoquiam, Washington, and often worked in association with the Seattle-based architectural firm Huntington & Torbit.

Griffith designed notable buildings in Hoquiam such as the Bank of Hoquiam (1925), the 7th St Theatre (1928), and Hoquiam City Hall (1929).
