ESPY Awards

The Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly (ESPY) Awards are presented by the American broadcast television network ABC, and previously ESPN, to recognize individual and team athletic achievement and other sports-related performance.

The inaugural awards were held in 1993 at Madison Square Garden in New York, and again in 1994. For 2000-2001 the awards came from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Since 2008 the awards have been hosted by the Nokia Theatre (later the Microsoft Theater, and as of Summer 2023 the Peacock Theater) in Downtown Los Angeles.
