The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards are given by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA)
to recognize outstanding performances in film and prime time television.
The inaugural awards were presented in 1995 at Universal Studios (Burbank, California). In 1996 the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium hosted the awards. From 1997 to 2021 the awards were presented at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall just south of Downtown Los Angeles.
In 2022 the awards were held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and in 2023 at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Century City, California. For 2024, the awards moved back to the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall just south of Downtown Los Angeles.
